| ecco un articolo su questo drama Korea To Get Its Own Version Of ‘Hana Yori Dango’ Korea looks to prove that the third time really is a charm when they finally get their own version of 'Hana Yori Dango' sometime in 2008.
The popular Japanese manga was first adapted to the television screen in Taiwan through a drama called 'Meteor Garden'. The successes of 'Meteor Garden' prompted Japan to also adapt the manga to the small screen in 2005. It was so popular in its short initial run that they ended up making a sequel. Now, in 2008, Korea will finally get its shot at remaking the popular manga into a drama.
The Korean company in charge of the considerable task of producing the drama is Group Eight. Their previous works include the dramas 'Goong: Princess Hours' and 'Fantasy Couple'. Due to those aforementioned previous works, the announcement of Group Eight as the production company was met by high expectations and great anticipation by fans.
The Korean version of 'Hana Yori Dango' is set to be 24 episodes at 70 minutes each. The tentative television premiere date is said to be sometime in the latter stages of 2008.
With the rampant successes of its predecessors, I'd say the pressure is piled on Group Eight to put out an extraordinary product. Given their track record and the material they have to work with, I wouldn't expect anything less than a drama that dominates the Korean market during its run.
The main questions about the drama revolve around who is going to be casted in the roles. There's no word on the actresses or actors involved in the project yet, so it's hard to get a feel for which direction it's going. However, Group Eight has had considerable casting successes in the past, so there's no real reason to doubt their ability to do it effectively.
My main hope is that they don't make the main male leads (F4) a group of 4 fruits like they did in the previous two adaptations. Then again, this is Korea, so I'm sure they'll be toeing the line between male and female like always.
